HOW IT WORKS · FREE RANKING-POINT GAMES
Played for rank.
Some contests have no prize. They say FOR RANK where a prize would be, they are free to play, and you play them for your place on the leaderboard. Every contest, prize or not, earns ranking points.
Contests played for rank
- No prize.A FOR RANK contest pays nothing, in cash or anything else. You play it for the result.
- The same game.Picks, lineups, scoring and tiebreakers work as in any contest of that type. See Pick'em and NFL Weekly Fantasy.
- It still counts.Your finish earns ranking points and moves you on the leaderboards, the same as in a prize contest.
How ranking points work
- +10For playing.Every contest you lock in to. Never scaled, so last place still earns it.
- +90At most, for where you finish.First place earns all 90 in a field of 50 or more, and last earns none of it. In a smaller field they shrink with it: in a field of 25, first place earns 45 of them.
- +10For a head-to-head win.A tie earns +5 and a loss nothing. Never scaled. Only on contests with head-to-head.
- Your best entry counts. With more than one entry in a contest, the one that finishes highest earns your points, and your place is counted among people, not entries.

Where they count
Ranking points add up across contests and game types on the leaderboard: this week (when the week has two or more contests), this month, the season and all time. Sharpest is the exception: it ranks the share of picks you got right over a month, and takes three contests to qualify. Winning a week or a month earns a crown; see achievements.
A contest's own rules decide how it is scored and ranked. Full rules
